Michael Johnson, the founder and Acupuncturist at Pristine Acupuncture at South Slope Acupuncture in Asheville NC, is highly experienced in treating severe and chronic pain conditions, anxiety/stress, allergies and fertility/pregnancy. Michael has practiced for 16 years, and especially enjoys helping in cases where people have been told they have little to no hope. There is hope!

Education
Michael Johnson is an Acupuncturist who has been trusted by clients for their care since 2009. He is originally from Johnson City, Tennessee, and he lived in East Tennessee until he was 24. Michael graduated from Tennessee Tech with honors in Psychology. After having his migraines helped with Chinese medicine, he decided to move to Seattle and learn Acupuncture at one of the top 3 universities in the country, Bastyr University.

Michael graduated from Bastyr with honors in 2009 and went on to train underneath skilled practitioners for 2 more years when he left school. He learned to specialize in Japanese Acupuncture that is very gentle and almost painless. Michael and his family then moved to Fairbanks, Alaska for 6 years and worked in a wonderful multidisciplinary clinic in Alaska.

During this time Michael learned specialized allergy elimination techniques (NAET).

For 4 years, Michael owned a successful clinic in Salem, Oregon. But after all this time, he decided it was time to move back home. Michael and his 3 kids are so excited to be living in Western North Carolina and are absolutely in love with Western NC. Michael spent a lot of time in these mountains as a kid, and they were the best times of his life.

Michael enjoys weight lifting and bicycle riding as hobbies. He also enjoys playing with his kids!
